and bade her to sleep upon his belly. She purred contentedly atop him, her
much smaller stature intimately snuggled against him.
From where she lay atop him, her fangs at last retreating into her gums, Jana
fell asleep feeling loved and secure in a way so powerful twas for a
certainty she had never before experienced it. And yet as she stretched and

yawned, she couldn t help but to wonder what other Khan-Gori surprises lay in
wait for her, what other astonishing things would be thrust upon her.
Instinctually, and unable to resist, Jana s tongue darted out and curled
around Yorin s flat male nipple, suckling the salt from his skin. She was no
better than ayenni , she thought with a pang of fright, for there was naught
in this world or any other that could keep her from milking him of seed, or
from lapping away the salt upon his sweat-soaked skin.
She fell asleep thinking about Yorin s lair, apprehensively wondering what
she would find within it.
Chapter 11
Meanwhile, back on Zideon&
Kara s eyes filled with tears as her sire swung her up into his arms
and hugged her as though he never wanted to let go. She wept openly, allowing
her hot tears to track down her cheeks unchecked, wetting them both.
She had expected to feel overwhelmed with joy upon seeing hermani and sire
again, yet nothing could have prepared her for the surge of emotion she had
felt when first she had embraced hermani , and now as she was held by her
papa. After all that she had done to hurt them, after allowing them to believe
her dead for five Yessat years, they were both accepting her back into their
lives with open arms and without recrimination.
In truth, Kara wished that they would yell at her, that they would accuse her
of all that she was guilty of, for twould do much to ease her plaguing guilt.
Instead, she was being showered with naught but love of the hearts and genuine
gratitude of the fact that their beloved daughter had at last returned home.
Twas wondrous indeed, yet twas for a certainty that she felt she didn t
deserve it.
Ah goddess, my hearts, Zor whispered into her hair. You have been sorely
missed, wee one.
Kara smiled through her tears, hugging her sire tightly. As have you, she
choked out. There were many moon-risings throughout the years that I longed
to come home, yet I feared twould be no welcome for me there.
How could you think that? he rasped out. Tis naught I wouldn t have given
to have you safely back.
Kara held onto his neck tightly, having missed him so much. She could feel
Cam s eyes upon her, so she raised her face from her sire s shoulder and gazed
at him through teary lashes. He winked, a silent communication reminding her
that he had been right and that her parents had wanted her back regardless to
everything. She smiled at him softly, telling him without words how much she
loved him, how much she would always love him.

I m telling you sweetheart, Kyra said shakily as Zor set their daughter
back down on her feet that hisnee ka might embrace their hatchling again, if
you ever pull any dumb stunts like that again I ll&
Oh goddess, mani , Kara said on a groan. Think you I could ever bear to be
separated from Cam, papa, and you again?
The answer had better be no, she sniffed, reaching out to run her fingers
through her daughter s hair. My heart couldn t handle it.
Nor could mine, Cam murmured as he walked up to join the hugging,
teary-eyed trio. He put his arm around hisnee ka and squeezed her gently.
Mayhap now you understand why tis important you tell us all that you know in
regards to Dari and Jana s whereabouts. He bent down and kissed her atop the
head. Just as your parents grieved o er you, so too do Queen Geris and King
Dak grieve the loss of their hatchlings.
Kara shook her head. Twas truth I told you, husband. Verily, I know not
where they have gone. She sighed, her expression growing troubled. Though in
truth I fear the worst. Jana and I have always been best friends. If twas
possible for her to contact me&
Then she would have done so, Kyra murmured. She took a deep breath and
gazed up at her husband. I hope Dak finds them both of them. I have a bad
feeling about& something I can t quite put my finger on, she muttered.
As do I. Zor s look was thoughtful as he gazed down at his daughter. In
truth, my hearts, I am fair bursting with questions to put to you about the
years you spent removed from us. And yet He waved toward the raised table
